Marvel’s Black Panther continued to make history in its fifth weekend at the domestic box office, taking in $27 million, becoming only the seventh film ever to cross the $600 million in North America. It is also the first film since Avatar to top the chart for five consecutive weekends. It finished Sunday with a domestic total of $605.4 million and $1.182 billion globally.

According to Deadline, it only took six hours for the upcoming Infinity War to achieve the best-selling first day ticket sales. It’s already beaten out Batman v. Superman, Justice League, and the previous record-holder, Black Panther.

Universal Pictures announced Friday that they’ve set a June 12, 2020 release date for the action-thriller Red Notice, starring Dwayne Johnson. The project that will reunite Johnson with his Central Intelligence and Skyscraper director Rawson Marshall Thurber, was the subject of a high profile bidding war between major studios that included Warner Bros., Paramount, Sony and even Netflix.

THR report that Shia LaBeouf is gearing up to play his own father in Honey Boy, a quasi-biopic centered on LaBeouf’s relationship with his former clown and heroin-addict father, beginning around the time the young actor was on Disney’s Even Stevens.

The first trailer has been released for Fox Searchlight’s Can You Ever Forgive Me?. The comedy-drama centers on the infamous literary scam by famed writer Lee Israel, played by Melissa McCarthy, who forged the words of dead celebrities on small notes and memos to raise money.

Sorry for the ringing audio for first 20 minutes, we fixed it after that. There was an issue with one of the audio cables.

Please take a second to look at my short film "UNARMED". This short film is about the effects POLICE BRUTALITY can have on a family. I poured my heart & soul into this film and you would literally make my DREAMS COME TRUE by watching and giving feedback. I am a student filmmaker and I literally went broke to produce this film! All feedback is wanted, Thanks!!!

Tony Stark and Steve Rogers will die and will get replace by Black people just like in the comic book. Hollywood will do that, for the sake of Diversity. This is the current marching order in Hollywood.

    Hulk dying... NO!!!

  • Joe McKim - 4 weeks ago

Black Panther has a 50% chance of beating PacRim2 this weekend. But there is no chance that it beats Ready Player One next weekend. If you figure that BP will do about 20 million this year and somewhere around 12-15 million next weekend.

Why do you KEEP PLAYING the final Black Panther battle? Can you not just play the trailer for the few people haven't seen the movie?

If Shia LaBeouf plays his dad in a movie, will there be a sex scene with an actress playing his mom? That would be weird.

I've heard a spoiler alert that black panther is also on the killed off list to go in this Avengers Infinity War movie. I truly hope this spoiler news is not true, but it's a 50- 60 percent chance.

im hoping cap's famous comic book death will be replaced with iron man. not ready at all for chris evans to leave. i think with thor ragnarok being so great and the best of that Thor trilogy, we we wont see him die, they've realised what works for a thor film and might want another sequel with chris hemsworth still young and fit to continue playing the god of thunder. not gonna lie i WANT DEATHS and my list for who id kill off would be Vision, Black widow, Iron man, War Machine. The Gamora backstory in pt 1 makes me sad to think she will try stop and reason with Thanos and be killed for her bravery. I think Cap will die too. Original Avengers remaining will be Thor, Hulk and Hawkeye for pt2. A Wrinkle in Time bombed. Ava Duvernay is talented but she has to take responsibility, let's not ignore it. This was a project she was also passionate about. i lost interest to see this the moment i finished watching the 1st trailer - nothing about the story nor the casting got me remotely excited to go see it. given that i haven't been to see a film since BP - i can now afford to go see infinity war 3x. i find labouef a major turn off in everything he does, i would much prefer to watch paint dry.

This is what happens when you take your time. Marvel has made us care about Hawkeye meanwhile no one cared about any member of the Justice league.

  • The Broog Report! - 4 weeks ago

I liked Tomb Raider a lot more than I expected. It was a good introduction to the new Laura Croft. Alicia Vikander had a lot more personality than was conveyed in the trailers. I do hope there will be a sequel.

Folks at Collider, watching Jon talk AND the cast of Jumanji goof around in an interview on a repeated cycle, was distracting and not necessary (and kind of insulting to Jon Schnepp in my opinion). It kind of infers that "the panelists don't have enough interesting things to say, so look at this shiny object". It is insulting to the panelists and the viewers when done too much. We're not idiots, we can focus on panelists and what they say, we don't need useless video playing along with the discussion. It works when talking about a trailer and to have the trailer running, but don't keep things on a cycle. It actually makes me dizzy if you leave the footage on too long and I want to turn the video off. I know you might think it looks slick, but please ease up on the new toys. I miss the sidebar and the hosts. To end on a positive note, great show otherwise, and I do like the new look!

For the people always screaming movies aren't diverse enough!!! Umm.....look at this lineup. You got everything. Black, gay, strong female characters.

  • Factual Opinion - 4 weeks ago

A real damn shame. People finally get a solid video game movie and they don't come to see it. Guess the studio would think the audience wouldn't want an uncharted movie

I see Disney running for president in 2020 or 2024.

  • Adam Stevens - 4 weeks ago

One can only assume that when Kristian claims that Black Panther will beat Avengers to become the most profitable superhero movie of all time, he means it'll become the highest grosser in the US. That definitely seems like a lock, with it only ~$20 million behind currently, but it's still ~$350 million behind the worldwide total of Avengers. I highly doubt it will catch that.

Can we stop using the term "faith based" and call them Christian movies because I don't recall any Jewish or Muslim or Hindi or any other type of "FAITH" ever being represented in American cinema.

Those Faith movies are advertised at LifeWay Christian stores.
